Help in pain management for individuals suffering with chronic pain.

Motion Analysis

Using slow motion video of your movement we can identify incorrect techniques and inefficiencies in movement. Methods are utilized to identify  erroneous movements and correct them. This facilitates optimal performance and helps to prevent injury. Athletic activities which can be analyzed include: running, soccer, biking, swimming, baseball, kayaking, & tennis. Regular activities of daily living which may contribute to injury can be analyzed including postures at the computer or in an auto and lifting objects.

Thank you, I am much better, even remarkably better. I have gotten use to the different running form and I am now landing my foot much flatter on the ground.

Although it seems that walking correctly should be something everybody does automatically it’s not.  Many individuals have faulty habits, postures, and movements that contribute to pain and early fatigue.

  • Have you experienced nagging recurring injuries related to you exercise program?
  • Do you think you can improve your walking/running form to become more fluid and efficient?
  • Have you been told that you pronate too much?  If so, what is the evidence that you do?
  • Are your feet turning out too much?  Are you a heel striker?  Is you head forward of your body?  Do you over stride?

If you answered yes to any of these questions or you are not sure of the answer a slow motion video analysis can help.

Musculoskeletal Screening Exam

A musculoskeletal screening examination includes careful review of your injury and exercise history, measurement of posture, flexibility, strength, and balance.

A musculoskeletal screening examination can help improve performance, and prevent injury.

I came to you with lower back/ hip pain that would flare up from time to time. Well thanks to your thorough evaluation and treatment, I haven't had the same pain again and just ran a PR in the Richmond Marathon. Thanks so much for your help with that.

In the past have you:

  • Broken any bones particularly during childhood/adolescence?
  • Had traumatic sprains/strains, or dislocations?
  • Had surgery on your bones, joints, or muscles?
  • Had any bone or joint problems such as arthritis or osteoporosis?
  • Worn corrective shoes, braces, or shoe inserts?
  • Experienced recurring injuries from associated with a regular exercise program?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we can help with a musculoskeletal screening examination.  After specific limitations are identified we can help modify your exercise/training program to correct identified faults.
